Should I rely on job boards to fill my vacancy?
Job websites can be a great source of candidates, but this is not always the case. We feel now more than ever job websites are great for brand awareness, however we are now needing to think outside the box on how we source talent in a candidate driven marketplace.
So why does advertising on a job board not always work?
- Job boards list an extremely high number of job ads, forcing you to either pay more for extra exposure or risk not being seen
- Not all available candidates look at job boards to find a job
- No salary is given on the advert so it puts candidates off applying
- Volume of those applying you can easily miss great talent, sometimes the best candidate does not always have the best CV(one of my regular clients always says this when she hires through me)
- The content of the job ad is often internally written and is hard to understand. This puts candidates off applying.
- The job board often states how many people have already applied for the role. If the number is high this often puts candidates off
So, why were Valeco Recruitment able to fill the role so quickly?
- Market knowledge
- A wider candidate reach - we already had a pool of qualified candidates (who had been registered interviewed and reference checked), and the resources to attract even more
- Technology - we have the tech to source talent and our team know how to conduct in depth searching with the sourcing methods and knowledge we have gained over 18 years. Does your team know how to conduct a boolean search? or a Google Xray Search? Talent does not always sit on a job board.
- We know the candidates who are not serious on the job market or can be those who ghost agencies and employers along with many more stories to tell you.
- Recruitment experience - we know what we are doing!😊
